The FIA found excessive wear on the skid plank beneath both vehicles, detecting thickness below the minimum 9 mm threshold. As a result, the team\u2019s cars were disqualified from the classification of the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Championship_Implications\"><\/span>Championship Implications<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to the verdict, Norris had extended his lead in the title race by finishing second, with Piastri in fourth.
